Originating in Oakland, California, in Trader Vic’s the first Mai Tai was made for some visitors from Tahiti.

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Passion Fruit Rum
3/4 oz orange curaçao
3/4 oz lime juice
1/2 oz orgeat
1/2 oz dark rum
1 lime wheel and a mint
sprig garnish

Method

Add everything into a shaker with crushed ice and shake lightly (about 3 seconds). Pour into a double rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and mint sprig.
